BICO 2025 is the first show in the artistic exchange programme between Portugal and Spain promoted by Córtex Frontal (Arraiolos) and LEA – Lab of Experimental Art (Madrid). The show features works by 18 artists living in both countries, selected through an open call.

The proposed theme – flying – serves as a common starting point. The aim is not to illustrate flight, but to use it as a conceptual framework: to move, to cross boundaries, to occupy other spaces, to imagine new forms of relationship. The works presented address flight as a physical, political, symbolic or affective gesture, reflecting on mobility, lightness, distance, risk or the impulse to leave.

Following this show, four of the artists will be selected for an artistic residency in the country opposite to that of their residence.
