PSYCHO is a piece about two almost identical cinematographic sequences (the movie Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock and the homonymous remake by Gus Van Sant, made in 1998). What appears when two different but almost equal things are seen simultaneously? 
PSYCHO is a piece about the anatomy of two images and their skinning. PSYCHO is a way to expand time of each body and make its weight present. PSYCHO is pausing the flow of time and rigorously observing the moments and details of what is happening inside. PSYCHO is a mirror game. PSYCHO is about the doubles. PSYCHO is a copy plus its original. PSYCHO is much more than a remake. PSYCHO is a drop of blood falling on a puddle of blood. PSYCHO are green and gray horizontal lines. PSYCHO has to do with the third man. PSYCHO is a third body.
PSYCHO, as well as Make It, Don’t Fake It (2018), is part of the Asleep Images research project, which asks: can a person itself store, be, represent and reproduce cinematographic content?

Bio
Julián Pacomio

Julián Pacomio’s performance art works investigate the ideas of copying, remake, translation and appropriation of other people’s materials and works. He collaborates with the choreographer Ángela Millano in the research project Asleep Images, from which they have created the pieces PSYCHO (2019) and Make It, Don’t Fake It (2018), with residences in Tabakalera (San Sebastián), La Caldera (Barcelona) and Atelier Real (Lisbon). In 2017, he did the solo work El Mundo Bajo El Mundo (2017) and, in 2016, he co-created together with the architect Miguel del Amo, the piece Espacio Hacedor within the program of La Casa Encendida / CA2M artists in residence, that received the Utopia prize of the Madrid Frinje Festival, in Naves Matadero, and was shown in Leal_Lav (Tenerife). He works in Lisbon, since 2017, with the choreographer João Fiadeiro in From afar it was in Island, From close up, a stone and What to do with what remains. In 2019, he has been working with the choreographer Luis Garay in the piece Gold Mud, and with the choreographer Annika Pannitto in The Third Table. Since 2016, he has been part of the Bullshit live arts collective, carrying out the Bullshit MEX (Mexico City) and Bullshit UY (Montevideo) festivals. He has a degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s degree in Scenic Practice and Visual Culture of the Reina Sofía Museum. Between 2015 and 2017, he took part in the Advanced Studies in Critical Practices program at the Reina Sofía Museum, organized by Artea.

Ángela Millano

Ángela Millano is interested in the body, its possibilities and the ways we talk about it, as well as the way in which it is understood, cataloged, managed and legislated in our society. Her solo works Hogar (2017) and I never wear a skirt because I don’t know how to cross my legs (2016) had the support of Instituto Cervantes Berlin, Sala Pradillo, Dantzagunea, Leal.Lav, Histeria Kolektiboa, Sala Baratza, and have held the grant for Choreographic Creation of the Basque Government in 2016 and 2015, respectively. They have been shown in La Casa Encendida, Dock 11, Azkuna Zentroa, English Theater Berlin, K3, DANCE IN RESPONSE, and Leal.Lav. Since 2017, she’s been developing the project Asleep Images together with Julián Pacomio, with residences in La Caldera, Tabakalera and Atelier Real. Since 2018, she’s been working with Pablo Fidalgo in Anarquismos (Por el medio de la habitación corre un río más claro), which was premiered at the BAD Festival. In 2019, she begins a new solo, with residences in La Poderosa, Desfoga and Espacio DT. She has also worked with Alexandra Pirici, Johanna Bruckner, Matias Daporta, Hanna Kritten Tangsoo, Isabelle Schad and Idoia Zabaleta, among others. She holds a degree in Philosophy from Universidad Complutense, and a Master’s in Scenic Practice and Visual Culture from the Reina Sofía Museum. She is also a graduate in Contemporary Dance, at the Mariemma RPCD.
